More trees nurtured to the desirable height in our tree banks are now ready for transplanting across the different road corridors. The Environment and Social Safeguards team at the Uganda National Roads Authority has since commenced this exercise along the Masaka bypass and Masaka-Lwera highway.
The Green Right of Way programme (GROW) launched 2017 is part of environmental restoration activities on all upgraded road reserves. UNRA is grateful to the National Forestry Authority (NFA) for supporting the Green Right of Way programme intended to plant trees across the completed roads in the country.
With 23 nurseries across the country, UNRA intends to plant over 10 million trees on the national network over the next 3 years.
